BIO
Mission:
Building community by exploring shared histories, expressed through tailoring.
I’m a Canadian fashion designer and creative director, and the founder of Mr. Saturday, a Toronto-based luxury menswear label known for narrative-driven collections rooted in history, subculture, and craftsmanship. Alongside my independent practice, I serve as Creative Director at Roots, one of Canada’s most iconic heritage brands, helping guide its creative evolution for a new generation.
My work started in a very hands-on way. From late nights throwing parties, repurposing vintage garments, and teaching myself to sew, I was driven more by curiosity and community than any traditional fashion path. Over time, that DIY energy grew into Mr. Saturday, which has since presented on the official calendars of New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. In 2021, I became the first Canadian menswear designer to be officially included on the Paris Fashion Week calendar. Along the way, I’ve been honoured to receive recognition as the Canadian Menswear Designer of the Year at the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards, as well as being recognized by Vogue as a New Name to Know and by Complex as one of the 20 Canadians Shaping the Next 20 Years of Culture.
In 2023, I was appointed the first Creative Director in Residence at Roots, a role created specifically to bring a fresh perspective to the brand while respecting its legacy. At Roots, my focus has been on evolving the brand image and product language. I do that by bridging heritage craftsmanship with contemporary design. Fortunately since I’ve started we’ve seen strong sales performance and category growth, particularly within men’s, women’s and fleece-led lifestyle assortments. It’s been an opportunity to share my vision of Canadian lifestyle, apply design-led thinking at a global scale, and prove that cultural relevance and commercial success don’t have to exist in opposition.
